Catering

Catering at Bridge Academy West is designed to prepare young people for life after year 11 and how to eat nutritiously while enjoying the cuisine of dishes from around the world. Students gain an appreciation of both traditional English dishes as well as many from different cultures. KS4 students are able to gain BTEC or GCSE qualification in the subject.                                                                                  

Catering not only offers students the chance to make nutritious and new dishes they can then make at home but teaches students about communication, budgeting, recipe reading, measuring ingredients and a wide range of cooking skills. Through studying catering, students have the opportunity to experience how food has both a physical and emotional role in people’s lives.
